ZOOCHOSIS
Zoochosis is the term given to describe the psychological problems developed by beings kept in captivity in zoos. However Zoochosis is on a wider sense a societal symptom of our disconnection from nature; and reveals our collective Speciesism, a belief that we as a species are inherently more deserving of rights than other species. The argument put forth by zoos is that they exist for the benefit of the beings confined within and serve a conservation purpose. However zoos are always a business first and the animals never have a say in being there.
